We are all lovers of mobile phones. Nowadays, almost everyone uses a mobile phone, however, only a few people know about the hidden opportunities available by pressing certain key combinations. 

This key combination ranges from numbers, asterisks(*), and the ash sign(#) make up the mobile phone secret codes.

Just like the unstructured supplementary service data (USSD) – Sometimes known as “quick codes” or “featured codes”. There are a handful of these amazing phone functions you may not know about.

In this post, I will show you some phone codes and tricks to make you look like a pro when you handle any mobile phone.

Some of these codes may be particular to certain phone brands but there are generic codes that work for all.

So sit tight and let’s dig out some codes and tricks. Smile…

*#06# : Displays your unique IMEI number

The IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. This is a unique code for every mobile phone. No two IMEI numbers are the same.

To display your phone’s IMEI number, open the dial/call app and type *#06# – A popup will show displaying your IMEI number. You can save it somewhere.

This can be useful if your phone is stolen or you lose your phone. You can easily block or blacklist your phone from being accessible to anyone by contacting your network provider customer support.

*#*#225#*#* : Displays calendar storage information

This code displays some major calendar info on your mobile phone. You will be able to see birthdays events, holidays in Nigeria/country of residence, PC sync, and the emails associated with your mobile phone.

*#*#4636#*#* : See Wifi signal, battery usage and CPU statistics.

This code is all in one information. This code displays the WiFi signal as well as your battery info and Usage statistics. If you care to know more about your mobile phone information, dial *#*#4636#*#*.

*31# : Hide your caller ID

Is someone ignoring your calls? Or probably they owe you money and not picking up your calls? Smiles…

You can hide your phone number on all outgoing calls by dialing *31#.

The person you are calling will see a private number once your call enters his/her phone. Dial *#30# to reveal your phone number identity when done.

*#*#7594#*#* : Quick Shutting down

This code will turn off your phone instantly without making use of the power button.

This can be useful if you have a mobile phone with a faulty power button. I once had a phone without a power button.

*#5005*7672# : Displays sms message center number

This secret code will show you the phone number that is associated with your cell phone message center and is actually the number that all your text message is sent to before being forwarded to the actual person you want to send it to.

*#*#8351#*#* : Listen to your own voice recordings

Let’s say you made an important call like an interview call, you can dial *#*#8351#*#* to listen to recordings of your own voice during the last 20 phone calls.

*#*#426#*#* : Firebase Cloud messaging (FCM)

This may be useful to Android developers. This combination of characters opens up the FCM diagnostic page or information related to google play services.

*#*#7780#*#* : Instant Factory reset settings

This code should be done with caution. Please do not try this code as it will wipe off all your phone data.

But if you are ready to sell your phone or you notice a virus attack. You can dial *#*#7780#*#* for the instant factory reset of your mobile.

*3001*12345#* : Signal Information

This code is specifically for iPhone users. You will see signal strength appearing at your phone’s navigation bar which gives you info about local networks and cell towers.

There are other bunch of codes and tricks. Some other ones that may be useful are listed below:

*43# — Activate call waiting

*#0011# — Display service menu for Samsung galaxy only

*#61# — Activate call forwarding

*#*#2663#*#* — Displays touch-screen version

*#*#3264#*#* — Displays RAM version

*#888# — Displays the PCB version of the motherboard of the phone.

NOTE: Some of these codes are only particular to certain phone brands like Samsung, tecno, xiaomi, realme, iPhone e.t.c

I hope this guide is helpful. It is very important to know that some of the codes are a bit extreme.

Some of them can wipe your entire smartphone and factory reset it, so be cautious while inputting them. Read the description and then go on a code entering spree.
